FAQ's

Here are some of the most common questions we receive about Thrive Hypnotherapy’s services! If you are still uncertain about Hypnotherapy, IEMT or PSYCH-K®, or if you don’t know what to expect from a session, these FAQs will help.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What issues can Thrive Hypnotherapy support?

We address many issues, including anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, phobias, panic attacks, limiting beliefs, weight control, insomnia, trauma, confidence issues like public speaking or exam nerves, and we also use techniques that support emotional healing associated with grief, relationship challenges and chronic symptoms such as IBS and migraines.

2. What does a Hypnotherapy session feel like?

Hypnotherapy is a relaxed state where you usually will enter a deeply focused, trance-like state (e.g., think daydreaming), but you are still aware and in control of yourself. In this focused state, your therapist offers your subconscious suggestions or ideas to help you change some patterns of thinking or behaviour. After a session, most people feel relaxed and refreshed, and their thoughts are usually clearer.

3. Is PSYCH-K® just like Hypnotherapy?

PSYCH-K® is not a Hypnotherapy process, but both methods involve working with the subconscious mind. Hypnotherapy can place a person in a relaxed trance state, while PSYCH-K® uses simple movements, intention setting, and body-based techniques for changing limiting beliefs. PSYCH-K® and Hypnotherapy are two methods that can be used independently or in conjunction with each other, depending on your needs and goals.

4. What is IEMT?

Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) is a soft and effective therapy designed to create specific eye movements to allow a person to release emotional distress, change their negative thought patterns, and fundamentally change how they feel without having to relive or go into detail about their past experiences. Also, IEMT can help with weight control since the emotional patterns and self-sabotage thinking that contribute to eating challenges and body image are resolved.

At Thrive Hypnotherapy, we use IEMT to help our clients work with issues such as anxiety, trauma, self-esteem and emotional triggers, enabling quicker and more long-lasting emotional change.

5. How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions differs from person to person based on the issue, how long it's been there and how deeply it's rooted. A few clients see benefits in just the one or two sessions, but you may prefer the continued contact and encouragement by having sessions regularly over some time. During your consultation to discuss your goals, we can outline a plan that works for you and at a pace that suits you on your healing journey.

6. Is everything discussed in sessions kept confidential?

Yes absolutely. Your confidentiality is of utmost importance to us; everything that you share in your sessions at Thrive Hypnotherapy is completely confidential and will be kept private. Everything is treated with the type of confidentiality that would be expected from a professional ethical standard. Whether we are connecting online or in person, I will always ensure that you feel safe, respected and that you are in a judgement-free zone.

7. How much does each session cost?

£75 per session, with a minimum of 2 sessions recommended.

8. How long is each session?

Around 1 hour to 1hr 15 minutes for each session.
