There are about 10 million smokers in the UK. It is the biggest cause of premature death and preventable disease in the UK – more than the next six causes put together. It kills over 100,000 people in the UK a year; about half of all smokers will eventually die of a smoking-related illness. It’s a leading cause of cancer. It also increases your risk for heart attacks, strokes, lung disease, and other health problems, including bone fractures and cataracts.
Quitting smoking can be a real challenge, but it’s one of the best things you can do for your health. There are many ways people choose to use to help them quit. Some just use will power alone, some use nictotine patches, gum or lozenges, some simply replace an addiction to cigarettes with an addiction to vaping (there are question marks around the safety of vaping). Different things work for different people
Many people have found Hypnotherapy an effective way to quit smoking
Hypnotherapy to stop smoking was proven to be the best method of stopping smoking by a meta analysis conducted at Iowa University by Viswesvaran & Schmiidt (1992) involving 72,000 subjects which was featured in the New Scientist magazine. This study looked at many different ways to stop smoking and hypnotherapy was shown to be the most effective method
Hypnotherapy to stop smoking uses the power of your subconscious mind to change your thinking processes. It takes only one session of up to two hours. During this session we will look at all your triggers to smoke and find ways to help you ignore, forget or respond differently to them. We can also build in things to stop you swapping one addiction with another, ie you stop smoking, only to replace it with food!
